From the very beginning…
First Responder Chaplain Corps was born out of significant collaboration, discussion, and prayer. What it looks like today is a bit different from the original vision - but far better! From the very beginning it was our passion to support first responders as they served communities and sought further education or training; this is the core of the FRCC DNA. And from this, from the very beginning, a scholarship for first responders was offered.
We’ve given away scholarships since 2020, nearly $20,000 worth - in collaboration with the departments we serve and outside organizations like ESI Equipment, Inc. and Lehigh Valley Rescue. We’re grateful and humbled by the partnership FRCC has with contributing departments and organizations like these!
For yet another first time…
Since 2020, The Chaplain’s Scholarship has been open to all qualifying personnel in FRCC-subscribed departments. In 2023 we began a scholarship for pre-service cadets at the Allentown Police Academy. In that first year, we awarded scholarships to one pre-service cadet in each graduating class. What an amazing honor! In 2024, we expanded to yet a third scholarship for fire and EMS departments in Northampton County, PA who do not currently subscribe to FRCC services.
